Haltungsverfahren (v.a.

Center for Livestock Technology

The Center for Livestock Technology develops and evaluates innovative methods and procedural solutions in two key directions: for overarching requirements for animal husbandry systems and husbandry processes (especially in terms of animal welfare, environmental sustainability, management, labor, efficient resource use, processing and product quality, and consumer demand) and also for special requirements at the level of individual elements in the housing environment (e.g., precise feeding, differentiated ventilation, monitoring for health, performance and behavior, area and room design, and emission reduction).

The requirements for livestock systems, individual system components, and the above-mentioned procedural engineering solutions are defined and evaluated in interdisciplinary cooperation with neighboring disciplines, especially at the interface of agricultural engineering, animal science, agricultural informatics, and economics.

Our guiding principle is that the (procedural) technology is useful and beneficial to both the animal and the animal holder. The needs and requirements of livestock are the starting point.
